Day 90 Highland Creek
Photographic Composite, mounted onto stained birch panel
40" x 60"x1.5"
$3,490
Layers: The setting is a ravine along Highland Creek in Scarborough, ON, not too far from where I used to live. The sky is an image of a smoky quartz, a stone that aids in grounding. Floating in the foreground are hints of lily pads and coral, which I photographed underwater while snorkeling in a cenote in Mexico. The chair is from our living room; my aunt & uncle bought it at an auction a long time ago, and gave it to me when they moved to the east coast. If you look closely, you’ll notice tiny points of light (Fireflies? Fairies?) - these are tiny Christmas lights, reflected in a TV screen in a dark room. To me, they represent tiny points of hope and joy.
